about alexa
Founder, Halling health solutions
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for over a decade, Alexa has worked with individuals in eating disorder treatment centers, outpatient clinics, and inpatient hospital settings including the intensive care unit. Starting her career in eating disorder treatment led to a firm belief that the modern concept of health and nutrition is deeply rooted in diet culture, which negatively impacts the way we feel about food and our bodies. Everyone deserves a relationship with food that’s nourishing and non-punitive. But to create peace with our body, we first need to undo the harmful internal biases we hold so we can develop a nourishing relationship with food.
Most recently, Alexa joined the Washington State Department of Health’s COVID-19 team, where she led programs focused on engagement, coordination, and special initiatives related to the COVID-19 vaccine. Alexa developed teams and programs in rapid time, and led them in responding to urgent needs following surges in cases due to new variants.
